


Title: State Development Director Status: Exempt
Reports to: SVP for
General
Description: The State Development Director will build a
new systematic program solely dedicated to
leveraging the fundraising opportunities afforded by a closer working
relationship among state leagues and national LCV.
Specific
(Essential) Responsibilities:

Develop a plan and operational strategies to
leverage the unique opportunity that our recent merger offers to the
fundraising practices at both the state and national level.
·
In conjunction with the LCV development
department and state leagues, seek and provide opportunities for state and
national leagues to actively fundraise together, via personal visits with major
donors, events, and a variety of grassroots fundraising methods (direct mail, telemarketing, online,
and canvassing.)
·
In coordination with the LCV development department
and state leagues, research, identify and coordinate joint donor prospects from
existing and new sources of funding.
·
Work with LCV development team and state leagues
to coordinate cooperative fundraising for regional and multi-state projects.
·
Develop and manage a program to strengthen and
coordinate brand messaging at the state and national level.
·
With support from the LCV development
department, initiate and manage shared development-related resources and other
services that lend themselves to economies of scale.

Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Work Experience: At least 5 years experience in
non-profit development or political fundraising required. An organized and strategic approach to
fundraising with significant experience in creating and managing multi-faceted
fundraising efforts and demonstrated
record of success in achieving results.
Previous experience with non-profit advocacy and political organizations
preferred. Familiarity with state
leagues and/or other political action organizations desirable.
Skills: A team
builder and a team player. Excellent
listening communication and interpersonal skills required; strong organizational and written
communication skills required, demonstrated ability to ask for direct
contributions and manage a diverse fundraising program required.
Capabilities:
Demonstrated relationship building skills; solid judgment; critical
thinking skills; a sense of movement and community; ability to handle multiple
details and tasks; highly organized;
Conditions:
Able to work in excess of stated office hours when necessary to get the
job done. Location to be determined. Salary depending on experience. Ability to
