Coordinator
The League of Conservation Voters Education
Fund seeks a Campus Coordinator for its student program, Project Democracy.
Project Democracy
trains and organizes students to make their voices heard in elections and with
elected officials. The Campus Coordinator is responsible for building and
managing Project Democracy chapters around the country and working with student
interns and leaders to develop and implement student non-partisan civic
participation campaign plans at each campus. Priority issue campaigns include
combating global warming and working for a clean energy
future.
Job Activities:
- Organizes and
coordinates student involvement in Project Democracy..
- Works with
supervisor to develop and implement student campaign
plans.
- Recruits and manages
student interns, including ensuring achievement of campus
goals.
- Maintains regular
contact with student leaders and other student
organizations.
- Works to expand
student base through web and electronic networks, as well as campus
outreach.
- Performs
administrative, clerical, and miscellaneous duties as assigned by
supervisor.
- Performs other
duties as directed or as
necessary.
Requirements
- BA or BS in related
field.
- 2-4 years experience
working with students or volunteers planning and implementing grassroots
campaigns in the environmental movement, political campaigns, or similar
organizations.
- Basic understanding
of voter registration and non-partisan 501(c)(3) election
issues.
- Strong
organizational and problem-solving skills and ability to work
effectively
with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal,
written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to travel as
needed.
- Proficient computer
skills; knowledge and experience with word processing (MS Word), database, and
web.
Compensation:
Commensurate with
experience.
