
Position: John Day Field Coordinator
Location: Bend and/or John Day area, OR
Status: Full-Time
POSITION SUMMARY
Oregon Natural Desert Association
(ONDA) is looking for self-starter to lead its John Day Salmon Project.
The applicant must be an experienced, energetic person who is prepared
to coordinate all ONDA activities in the John Day Basin. The John Day
Field Coordinator will organize collaborative efforts between all
stakeholders including federal agencies, tribes, private landowners and
other NGOs. The focus of the position is to secure Wilderness
designation for unprotected federal lands and reduce impacts of
domestic livestock grazing on wild salmon and steelhead habitat.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
ONDA requires that applicants hold,
at a minimum, a bachelor's degree in environmental policy, science, or
related field and that the applicant have at least 3 years of
experience in rural collaborative conservation efforts; or the
equivalent combination of education and experience providing the
necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.
