Ed Mierzwinski, U.S. PIRG, Information Privacy, Gramm-Leach-Bliley and Fair Credit Reporting Act: (3 April 01), Link to printable pdf of Ed's testimony. Subcommittee on Commerce, Trade and Consumer Protection of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Here's a link to the full hearing. It was the third in a series of subcommittee hearings on Information Privacy. Mierzwinski focused on the need for strong financial privacy laws based on Fair Information Practices, and urged the committee to strengthen the weak privacy protection of the 1999 Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act.
