Senators' Tobacco PAC Money and 1998 Tobacco Votes Public Citizen Tobacco PAC Report that documents that 34 Senators who voted against the public health on ten 1998 tobacco control votes had received an average of 7 times more money from the tobacco industry than the 40 Senators who voted all or most of the time for the public health. The report also documents total industry contributions since 1987, including PAC money to candidates and unregulated soft money to the political parties.
