Background: Mr. Phelps directs statewide environmental initiatives for Environment Connecticut. Mr. Phelps has co-authored several reports including "Cars and Global Warming" (Spring 2005),and testified before the state legislature on multiple issues including vehicle emission standards, identity theft and campaign finance reform. He has appeared on all the major television affiliates in Connecticut. He has been featured on local radio including WTIC 1080 and Pacifica.
Prior to joining Environment Connecticut in 2007, Mr. Phelps worked for the United Way of the Capitol Area. He has also coordinated state legislative and municipal campaigns and hosted a public affairs cable television program and spent 4 years as a public interest advocate for ConnPIRG. Mr. Phelps lives in Portland, Connecticut, where he serves on the Board of Education and Municipal Clean Energy Task Force.
