Expertise: identity theft, prescription drugs, product safety, credit cards, credit scoring, automobile rip-offs, smokefree workplace, media ownership/consolidation

Background: Mr. Bourassa is working to protect consumers in Massachusetts.  He advocates in the state legislature and before other decision makers at the state level, and has testified before the state legislature on public safety issues and lowering the cost of prescription drugs.  He has authored several reports, including The Key to Safeguard Your Credit: A Consumer Survey and Report on Identity Theft and the Security Freeze.  Mr. Bourassa has appeared on the NBC Nightly News, as well as Boston’s CBS affiliate and National Public Radio, and has been featured in the Boston Globe on MASSPIRG’s efforts to protect consumers from identity theft.

Prior to joining MASSPIRG in 2003, Mr. Bourassa organized social service programs for the Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations.
