Erin Bowser

Background: Erin Bowser is the state director of Environment Ohio, and is responsible for
coordinating policy development, research, and legislative advocacy. Erin spearheads Environment Ohio's program, policy and organizing work. She has testified before the state legislature on issues ranging from energy policy to issues related to protecting Ohio’s waterways from pollution, and has appeared on television stations throughout the state of Ohio. In 2004, she also served as the Field Director for the Reform Ohio Now ballot initiative campaign which sought to reform Ohio’s election and campaign finance laws. From 2000–2003, she was the Assistant National Field Director for U.S. PIRG, the state PIRGs’ federal lobby office, where she crafted and executed field strategies for several environmental initiatives including the Roadless Area Conservation Rule which sought to protect over 60 million acres of our remaining national forests nationwide. Erin Bowser started working in 1998 in the PIRGs’ General Counsel’s office.
Ms. Bowser is also the Director for Environment Ohio Research and Policy Center, the 501(c)(3) sister organization of Environment Ohio.
Education: B.A., Clarion University of Pennsylvania, 1997 and M.A. in American Politics,
Ohio University, 1998.
