Background: Mr. Willcox directs statewide campaigns to promote public policies and regulations that will improve energy efficiency in Pennsylvania, the use of renewable energy sources, and energy production that won’t threaten the public’s health or the environment. He is also directing PennEnvironment's "No More Mercury" initiative to reduce mercury emissions by 90 percent from Pennsylvania's coal-fired power plants. Mr. Willcox co-authored PennEnvironment's "Renewables Work" report on the potential job growth from renewable energy development in the Mid-Atlantic, and testified before the state legislature on energy efficiency and renewable energy issues. He has appeared on local ABC, NBC, CBS, WB, and Fox News affiliates in Philadelphia, and has been quoted and had opinion pieces run in the Philadelphia Inquirer, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and Harrisburg Patriot News. Mr. Willcox joined the organization’s staff in 2002, after previously serving as the Global Climate Change Field Organizer for the U.S. Public Interest Research Group in Washington, D.C., and as the Citizen Outreach Director for the Rhode Island Public Interest Research Group.
